Drug
tradenames are interesting and very, very odd. Drug names are immediately
recognizable as drug names even if there is no other context. What
else could these be: Aggrenox, Prevnar, Cardizem?
The
recognizability of drug names comes from their absolute consistency:
they are always newly-minted words and those words never seem to
contain any existing words, only new assemblages of two to three
syllables.
